Join the MSP Airport Emergency Response Team (ACERT)

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) employees are charged with providing the best airport experience for MSP customers – even in times of crisis. To provide employees with training so they can be helpful during an emergency, MSP ACERT (MSP Airport Community Emergency Response Team) was created.

MSP ACERT provides training for basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, recognizing suspicious behavior, basic first aid and evacuation and shelter-in-place plans.

This is open to anyone badged at MSP who would like training on how to help your co-workers and passengers, should an incident occur in your area. Additionally, many current ACERT members have been able to use these skills outside of work for assisting with medical emergencies, car accidents and identifying alarms.

This year's ACERT training will begin April 5 at MSP Airport's Fire Station #1. ACERT training takes a total of 18 hours, broken into four, four-hour classes and one final two-hour drill. The registration packet contains a detailed itinerary for this year's training.

To participate in the course, please fill out a registration packet and send the completed forms to Brenda Kremer, Metropolitan Airport's Commission airport fire, at brenda.kremer@mspmac.org. Please note this is a voluntary program and requires the approval of your supervisor.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact either Brenda or Kristi Rollwagen, Metropolitan Airports Commission emergency programs manager, at kristin.rollwagen@mspmac.org.
