Plane Pull brings in more than $30,000 for Special Olympics

Sunny skies, a Delta jet and a little friendly competition made for an exceptional third-annual Plane Pull at MSP earlier this month.

Twenty-four teams competed to see who could pull a Delta jet 25 feet in the shortest time. Competition was tight as only a fraction of a second separated the first through third place winners. At the end of the event, 3M Brand Services walked away with first place – and bragging rights until next year's pull – by crossing the finish line in 10.39 seconds.

To participate, each team was asked to raise $1,000 in pledges for Special Olympics Minnesota. In total, the event brought in more than $30,000.

Winners for this year's event:

  • 1st place: 3M Brand Services; 10.39 seconds
  • 2nd place: MCE Pullers; 10.52 seconds
  • 3rd place: APD Core; 10.68 seconds

This family-friendly event was presented by Minnesota law enforcement agencies as part of their year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising efforts; co-sponsors included HMSHost, EndeavorAir, Delta, MSP Airport, Signature, Jet Pubs, GO 96.3 and, of course, the MSP Airport Police Department.
