Last week, Angel Food Bakery & Donut Bar was only about a donut length away from breaking a Guinness World Record at MSP.
The bakery attempted to create the world's tallest stack of donuts as a part of MSP's S.T.E.M.-themed MEA festivities. Angel Food came close to the height requirement of 110.5 centimeters – within about two donuts at one point. However, after nearly meeting the goal, the stack suffered several small collapses and was ultimately too unstable to reach the record.
The current record holder, 20th Century Fox, went after the record to celebrate the premier of The Simpson's Movie back in 2007.
In addition to Angel Food's pastry-based engineering feat, the Science Museum of Minnesota also stopped by both of MSP's terminals during the week to provide demonstrations and activities for traveling kids. Staff members also handed out S.T.E.M. drawstring backpacks filled with goodies to kids passing through the airport.
