Be sure to check out this year’s MSP Creates: Airport Community Art Show on Concourse C

There's a bit of an artist in everyone. As of last week, that truism is on full display at the "MSP Creates: Airport Community Art Show" in the Thomson Reuters Concourse C Art Gallery at Terminal 1.

More than 127 artists from the MSP Airport community created nearly 200 pieces of artwork that will be on the display through June 12 in the gallery.

This is the ninth year of the art show, which is co-sponsored by the National Arts Program, Arts@MSP, Airport Foundation MSP and the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC). On Friday (Dec. 13), a reception was held for the artists and their families where this year's winners were announced (family members are also eligible).

“This is such a wonderful event for us,” said Ben Owen, director of Arts@MSP, which is a program of the Airport Foundation MSP in partnership with the MAC.

Iris Logan, a family member of Delta Global Services employee Kayla Logan, took home the top “best in show” prize for her mosaic of children playing marbles. Among the other 26 winners was Patty Ruppert, an employee of Dakota News at MSP, who received honorable mention for a photo of her granddaughter on a swing.
