Highway 5 in both directions near MSP International Airport (MSP) will open Friday morning at 5 a.m. (Nov. 6) following several months of construction, MnDOT announced this week.
The project began in April to replace concrete, repair bridges and ramps, and improve drainage on about a two-mile stretch between I-494 and Highway 55 and Highway 62 near Fort Snelling.
Work continues on the inbound roadway to MSP's Terminal 1. The right-most lane remains closed so the MAC can complete electrical, irrigation and sidewalk work. The paved areas of the inbound roadway are expected to be open sometime next week.
