MSP Creates: Airport Community Art Show celebrates ten years

MAC and MSP Airport employees, volunteers, retirees and their families illustrated their tremendous creativity for this year's MSP Creates: Airport Community Art Show, which opened Friday, Dec. 18.

Ninety-six artists from throughout the MSP community submitted more than 130 pieces of artwork for the exhibit's tenth installment.

Due to the pandemic, the awards ceremony – traditionally held in person – was held virtually this year as nearly 1,000 people tuned in live and later on social media to find out who had won the 27 awards given out. If you were not able to view the awards premier on Friday, the presentation is now available on the Airport Foundation MSP YouTube channel.

"This is one of my favorite events of the year," said Brian Ryks, executive director and CEO of the MAC. "Art is such an inspirational part of all our lives. And this show gives us the opportunity to connect, at a time when that has been especially difficult."

The exhibit, co-sponsored by the National Arts Program, Arts@MSP, Airport Foundation MSP and the MAC, will be on display in the Thomson Reuters Concourse C Art Gallery now through June 4, 2021.
