Get your COVID-19 vaccine at Mall of America

If you haven't already received your COVID-19 vaccination, the Mall of America (MOA) vaccination site has at least 50 spots open per week for MSP employees and their families. The site is administering the Pfizer vaccine, which has been authorized for individuals 12 and older.

To date, just over 5,400 MSP employees have been vaccinated through the MSP Airport closed point of dispensing. But the more people who get vaccinated, the safer we all are. So, every effort is being made to provide opportunities for employees to receive it.

Having spots reserved for MSP employees at the MOA site – which is sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Health – means employees do not have to use the state's "Find My Vaccine" portal to get vaccinated.

Here's how the process works:

MSP employees contact their employers and let them know they want to get vaccinated. That employer will then contact Kristi Rollwagen, manager of Emergency Programs for the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

Kristi will then send the employer a link and registration code for the appointment. This code is then shared with the employee. The MOA site was chosen for this partnership because it is close to MSP and conveniently located on the light rail line.

"I took my son over to the MOA site last week – it is a very well-run site with LOTS of capacity," said Rollwagen. "We were in and out in less than 30 minutes, including the 15 minutes you are required to wait for observation following the vaccine."
