The Special Olympics Plane Pull returns to the MSP Airport campus in September after a two-year hiatus, and now is the time to start putting a team together.
This year's Plane Pull happens on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Endeavor hangar on the west side of the airfield. The Airport Police Department has championed this fundraiser at MSP since the mid-2010s.
Teams of eight people will gather at the hangar to find out which team can pull a regional jet 25 feet in the shortest amount of time.
Each team needs to raise a minimum of $1,000 for Special Olympics to participate. Spectators are encouraged to attend the fun, energetic event that supports a noble cause. An onsite food truck and equipment for children to explore is also in the plans.
