Air Expo 2022 at Flying Cloud Airport this weekend

Several thousand people are expected to attend Air Expo 2022 – one of the marquee events of the MAC Reliever Airport summer season – this Saturday (July 23) and Sunday (July 24) at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie, MN.

Between 30 and 40 vintage aircraft will be on display including two WWII-era Messerschmitt fighter planes, which "had air superiority over everything else in the sky soon after its introduction to the Luftwaffe service in 1937," according to Wings of the North, which organizes the event every year.

Rides are available for purchase on several of the vintage planes and many pilots and air service personnel will be on hand to chat with visitors. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Of course, there is also a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. And for diehard aviation fans, there is also a sweepstakes to win "an absolutely fabulous 1948 Beechcraft Bonanza V-35 we call BB8. She's a honey from the golden era of post-war civilian production and she's been nicely refurbished."
