MSP again earns two major cleaning and safety accreditations

For the third straight year, MSP Airport has earned two major industry cleaning and safety facility accreditations as part of its Travel Confidently MSP program.

MSP was reaccredited by:

Both accreditations demonstrate that the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) and MSP go to great lengths to clean and disinfect our facilities and for helping to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19.

MSP received the first accreditations in 2021, which documented the many safety and cleaning measures that were stepped up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that began in the early spring of 2020.

To achieve GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation, facilities must demonstrate compliance with the program's 20 elements, which range from proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques and work practices to risk assessment strategies and emergency preparedness measures.

The ACI Public Health & Safety Readiness Accreditation program has been designed to help airports assess the level of alignment of their public health and safety measures as well as the degree of readiness to manage future public health and safety disruptive events.

The accreditation programs, which require extensive review and documentation, were led by Brad Juffer, assistant director of Terminal Operations and Facilities for the MAC.
