What's happening at Terminal 2 behind those construction walls you ask? Here's the scoop.
Come fall a second checkpoint will open on the north side of the terminal near the entrance from the Orange ramp skyway. The checkpoint will have six lanes and, when fully staffed, be able to process approximately 1,200 passengers per hour. This will be of great help in keeping checkpoint wait times manageable.
The new checkpoint will be referred to as Checkpoint 1, while the existing one will be Checkpoint 2. (The existing checkpoint is due for a facelift as well and will closed for about six weeks once the new one opens.)
Employees will be able to use either checkpoint as long as it is staffed and open.
