The Badging Office and Learn Center will be closed from 10:30 to 12:30 on Thursday, May 20th for staff training. 


 Airport Badging Office and Aviation Security Division

The Airport Badging Office and Aviation Security Division are administrative divisions of the Airport Police Department responsible for the process of issuing Airport Identification Badges to employees who work and require access to security sensitive areas of MSP Airport for their official job duties. 

The Badging Office is located at:

MSP Airport Badging Office (Terminal 1, Daily Parking between the Red and Blue Parking Ramps on Level 5)

 COVID-19 Update

The MSP Airport Badging Office continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation very closely and will post updated information on badging processes and other Badging Office information as it becomes available.

Badges can be renewed starting 30 days before expiration and, in most cases, can be renewed up to 30 days after expiration without requiring fingerprinting and waiting for a badge clearance

We will be limiting the number of in-person attendees to the Authorized Signer Sessions in order to comply with social distancing; please continue to work with Darcey Holmberg in APD Admin ( for scheduling.

Protecting our staff and customers is a high priority for the Badging Office.  Due to Coronavirus COVID-19 and other illnesses, we ask customers who appear to be sick and/or coughing/sneezing, those who have fevers, or any other symptoms, to please re-schedule your badging appointment when you are well.

All customers processed in our office will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to service.  The Badging Office employees are using hand sanitizer before and after every customer, we are wiping down all surfaces on a regular basis and maintaining social distancing of 6’ in the Learn Center.

Walk-In Queue Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday - 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.


We begin accepting Walk-In Queue Appointments 15 minutes prior to opening each day

***If you have a scheduled appointment at a later date and choose to join our walk-in queue, your scheduled appointment is subject to cancellation***

You can sign-up for badging services anywhere through text message or online. Text mspbadging to 612-294-7739** or by clicking here. Shortly before it’s your turn to be served, you will be sent a text alert to your mobile phone. Make sure to use a phone that you will keep with you because you will be texted when it's your turn. (You can also join the queue at the badging office by using the kiosk in the lobby.)

 6TH Floor Learn Center – SIDA Training and Badge Pick-Ups

The 6th Floor Learn Center is home to our computer based SIDA training, as well as badge pick-ups.

Hours of Operation:

SIDA Class – Once you’ve been notified by your company that you may attend SIDA training, please proceed to the 6th Floor Learn Center, directly above the Badging Office, between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to attend SIDA class and be issued your badge. You will need an acceptable photo ID to be issued your badge. No admittance after 1:30 p.m.

Badge Pick-ups – Between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. you may pick up your badge in the 6th Floor Learn Center. Acceptable photo ID required. 

Occasionally there will be a need to alter hours due to staff training sessions. Please check back often for any closures.
