Eighth Honor Flight will take place October 6

Honor Flight logo

In May of 2004, our nation completed the construction of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. to commemorate the sacrifices of the "Greatest Generation." Sadly, because of their age, financial constraints or health concerns many of these veterans may not have an opportunity to see their monument.

Together with the National Honor Flight Organization, Sun Country Airlines will provide Minnesota and Wisconsin Veterans with one-day excursion on Saturday, October 6 to Washington D.C. for a visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Wall Memorial and other sites.

A homecoming party and reception will be held at Terminal 2-Humphrey on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 10:45 p.m. All are welcome to attend and greet vets as they return from their special day.

Since its inception in May 2005, over 82,000 WWII Veterans from across the United States have been safely transported as guests of Honor Flight. The Minnesota Vietnam Veterans Charity (MNVVC), a 501c (3) nonprofit, is partnering with the National Honor Flight Organization to provide this eighth flight for 100 Minnesota and Western Wisconsin World War II Veterans to Washington D C. Veterans living within a 65-mile radius of the Minneapolis/St Paul Airport may request an application for Honor Flight.

This program operates on donations from organizations and individuals to Honor Flight Twin Cities. If you would like further information about this program, please visit www.HonorFlightTwinCities.org
