New checkpoint opening at Terminal 2

The new checkpoint at Terminal 2-Humphrey (north end of the building) will open very early tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, October 9. This new checkpoint will be named Checkpoint 1 and will debut with half its lanes open.

The existing checkpoint will be renamed Checkpoint 2 and will remain open to passengers until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Checkpoint 2 will close for remodeling after its remaining equipment is transferred to Checkpoint 1.

This will leave Checkpoint 1 as the only open checkpoint for several months as Checkpoint 2 is being remodeled. However, during this time the only open EXIT will be at Checkpoint 2 (existing).  The exit at Checkpoint 1 will not be operational.

Terminal 2 management and its airlines have been gearing up for this day so they are ready to help passengers in finding their way. Overhead wayfinding signs are also being modified.

Another plus? The skyway from the Orange parking ramp will also now be open.
