Estes Gift & News celebrates 25 years at MSP

This year, the Estes family celebrated 25 years of store operation at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).  In 1987, Fred and Earline Estes opened Estes Gifts & News.  Over the years, their two children, Lisa and Frederic, played a significant role in the ongoing operation of the business.

In 2004, Frederic took over the operations of Estes Gifts & News. Shortly there after, he opened a second news and gifts store at MSP, Estes Lakeshore News. In 2009, Frederic expanded his company by opening an electronic accessory kiosk called Bluwire.  After sustained success with his Bluwire kiosks, Estes opened a Bluwire store on the F Concourse.  Frederic will be a joint venture partner of the new MPLS/St. Paul Magazine News & Gifts store opening  in Terminal 2-Humphrey in late 2012/early 2013.

Over his years at MSP, and other airports, Frederic Estes has been nominated for several “Airport Revenue News Best Concessionaires” awards, including Best News & Gift Operator 2009 - 2011, Best Retail Store Design 2010 and Best DBE Operator 2010 – 2011.

Congratulations to Frederic Estes and the Estes family on 25 successful years at MSP Airport!
