InterContinental MSP Airport Hotel offers special rate for military personnel

The Armed Forces Service Center (AFSC) at MSP Airport's Terminal 1 reopened Nov. 9 after being shut down in March to limit the spread of the coronavirus. However, no sleeping bunks, showers or prepared food is available.

To help fill that gap and to celebrate the AFSC's 50th anniversary, the InterContinental Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Hotel at Terminal 1 is offering a special room rate of $99 for traveling military with a current ID card beginning Nov. 22, which also happens to be the 50th anniversary of the AFSC's opening back in 1970.

Up until earlier this year, the AFSC had been open 24/7 for nearly 50 years, thanks in large part to its more than 190 committed volunteers.

The InterContinental offer runs from Nov. 22 to Jan. 2, 2021, for traveling military personnel, including those who fall in any of the following service categories: active-duty, National Guard, Reservists, dependents, Medal of Honor recipients, retirees, Public Health Service and Department of Defense.
